Dosimetry Systems
GEX offers two dynamic dosimetry systems: the popular WINdose
system, a fully automated radiation dose measurement system, and
the RisøScan system, enabling dosimetrists to measure dose
from optically scanned files.

The WINdose System – A Fully-Automated Radiation Dose
Measurement System
The WINdose System integrates the world’s most popular spectrophotometer
with our WINdose for Excel software, fully automating the dosimetry
report preparation process.
System Designed with the Customer in Mind
Customers receive a calibration-specific version of WINdose for
Excel with every GEX calibration service (includes new software
upgrades). All you need to use the WINdose System is a computer
running Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Excel.
Streamlining the Dose Measurement Process
All elements of the dose measurement process are linked to our WINdose
for Excel software, making the process easy and error-proof. The
password-secured software program contains your calibration specific
coefficients used to estimate dose. Each dosimeter is scanned by
the barcode reader and the information is collected into the worksheet.
In addition, spectrophotometer absorbance measurements are transferred
directly into the worksheet and dose values are assigned using the
embedded calibration coefficients.
B3 WINdose Dosimeters
GEX manufactures a complete line of individually numbered, prepackaged
and barcoded B3WINdose dosimeters that are developed specifically
for use with the WINdose System. B3 WINdose are thin (<20 micron
thick) radiochromic film dosimeters with a dose range of <2.0
kGy – >80 kGy and are measured at a single wavelength.

RisøScan's B3 Dose Mapping Software
Advancing Dosimetry with Revolutionary Scanning
Technology
The RisøScan B3 Dose Mapping Software enables dosimetrists
to measure dose from opticaly scanned image files, using nothing
more than a standard PC platform and scanner. Simply place B3 film
onto the scanner and scan the image using the standard scanner software.
The scanned file is opened using RisøScan, providing a variety
of data analysis options.
A major benefit of using the system is the ability to transfer
scanned image files to collegues or customers. GEX also provides
analysis assistance of scanned image files.
Measurement applications include:
- Depth dose curves
- Electron beam scan uniformity
- Beam spot analysis
- Surface area dose profiles
The RisøScan B3 Dose Mapping Software is supplied with a detailed
installation and operations manual and a set of laminated B3 radiochromatic
film calibration references (Part# S5210). These calibration reference
sets are used by the RisøScan software to establish a reference
response to dose to assign dose values for routine dose measurement.
To optimized results, several pre-packaged dosimeter products have
been designed to be used with RisøScan.
