Dosimetry Workshops
GEX wrapped up the first year of Dosimetry Workshops with our third full group of participants in October. Here are some comments from the participants:

We are already booking space for next year, so mark your calendars. Our schedule for 2003 is February 3-6, May 12-15, and October 6-9. ASTM Update
The ASTM Committee E10.01 on Dosimetry will meet January 13-15, 2003 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and again June 18-20 in Denver. The E10.06 Food Irradiation committee will meet January 16, 2003 in Albuquerque. These meetings are open to non-members of ASTM and GEX encourages you to participate. In addition, we still have a few remaining copies of the ASTM "Standards on Dosimetry for Radiation Processing." This unique publication contains 27 of the latest standards on dosimetry for the radiation processing industry. These standards were developed by ASTM International's Subcommittee, E10.01 on Dosimetry for Radiation Processing, which is comprised of most individuals, worldwide, known to be active in this field. Most of the standards are now ISO/ASTM documents.

New Publication by AAMI regarding Industrial Sterilization and Process Control
The AAMI Technical Report (TIR29:2002), Guide for Process Control in Radiation Sterilization is intended to be used in conjunction with ANSI/AAMI/ISO 11137:1994. Sterilization of healthcare products-Requirements for validation and routine control- Radiation Sterilization. TIR29:2002 provides additional guidance to the 11137 document while it is in revision.
