NEW Product Announcement: RisøScan officially released!
RisøScan enables dosimetrists to measure dose from opticaly scanned image files, using nothing more than a standard PC platform and scanner. Simply place film onto the scanner and scan the image using the standard scanner software. The scanned file is opened using RisøScan, providing a variety of data analysis options. A major benefit of using the system is the ability to transfer scanned image files to collegues or customers.

This long anticipated product, developed by Arne Miller and Jakob Helt-Hansen at Risø National Laboratory, can be used to analyze B3 and GAFCHROMIC films.

New B3 Film Batch Information
In the fourth quarter of 2003, GEX released a new B3 film batch (named batch BA). Several customers have already calibrated and are using the new batch. The batch characterization summary is now available for download from our website. Go to page>

In addition, two new Technical Memorandums are now available:

Study Shows DoseStix Dosimeter Saves Time & Money
50% Reduction in Read-Out Time!
A recent study performed by GEX compared the time of readout for our B3 WINdose dosimeters versus the newer B3 DoseStix dosimeters. Using participants with varied levels of experience, and comparing total read times for 30 dosimeter groupings, an across the board reduction in readout time of about 50% was documented for the B3 DoseStix.

Get your routine read times down to 15 seconds with unparalleled repeatability by switching to DoseStix!

Cost-Value Savings!
Although slightly more expensive than the traditional B3WINdose dosimeter, the labor and time savings will more than make up for the added cost of the dosimeter.

ASTM Guide for Dose Mapping (E2303) Now Available
In development for over 5 years, the new ASTM Standard Guide for Absorbed-Dose Mapping in Radiation Processing Facilities (E2303) is now available from ASTM. To find out more about how to obtain a copy, please visit ASTM’s website, www.astm.org. You can purchase copies of individual standards or become a member and receive a copy of all the standards from the E10 committee which includes all the sub-committee standards for E10.01 Dosimetry for Radiation Processing.
