Industry Meetings
Remember to stay informed about upcoming industry-related meetings (the
latest industry information is always available on our website - just
go to http://www.gexcorp.com/links.html):

our extended family team will be attending this important conference.
For those of you that will be attending the conference, we encourage
you to visit the ASTM poster session and obtain details on the ASTM
International E10.01 Dosimetry Subcommittee meeting to be held there
in K.L. To preview a PDF version of the poster that will be presented

GEX
Completes Manufacturing and Laboratory Expansion
GEX enjoyed a sales increase of more than 30% in 2005. In order to meet
the growing demand, we are currently undergoing a major expansion to our
facility. Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of February
and will triple the size of our manufacturing and laboratory areas. New
closed-loop humidity and temperature controls will be added, and the entire
manufacturing and lab areas will also be HEPA filtered and have anti-static
flooring throughout.
New
GEX Manufacturing Staff Additions!
In case you were wondering, yes there are new voices answering telephones
around GEX! We added two new manufacturing technicians this past October.
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Sean Coffman as Manufacturing
Manager. Sean joined GEX in 2005 and has gained valuable hands-on experience
by working his way up through dosimeter manufacturing. He reports to General
Manager Mike Pageau. Sean is now responsible for manufacturing scheduling
and daily production planning along with order shipments.
Tom
Mates Joins GEX Marketing Team!
GEX is pleased to announce the addition of Tom Mates to its sales staff
as our representative for the GEX radiation indicator product line. Tom
brings more than 20 years of experience in the contract radiation sterilization
business to our team effort. In his final position with Sterigenics International,
he served as Vice President of Product Safety, where he had contact with
members of the medical device, spice, cosmetic and lab animal supply industries.
Tom may be contacted through our offices: 303-400-9640 or e-mail: tmates@gexcorp.com.
New
B3 Radiochromic Film Batch
A new batch of B3 film is being cast and is expected to be released in
Q2 2006. We have ample stock of the current batch for our existing users
to see you through until the new batch is fully characterized and released
for client shipment.
We will be contacting
individual users shortly to work out shipment details and planning but
you can also contact Mike Pageau to coordinate planning to phase in the
new B3 radiochromic film batch BB.
Important
Radiation Process Control, Database and Dosimetry Software Update
With growing interest in electronic controls and record keeping, the following
companies are making great things happen in our industry. All three of
the software companies listed below provide solutions specifically for
dosimetry and data management:
- Basic Systems
is taking over the GEX Product Tracker software for existing GEX customers
and developing the next generation Product Tracker. For further information
contact Bob Ocken 765-674-4822. http://www.basicsusa.com/
- Konnexis,
Inc.
has expanded and moved to a new office. For more information on what
is happening at Konnexis, see the following link http://www.konnexis.com/
- Aerial
now has a Genesys 20 compatible version of its popular Aer’ODE
dosimetry software available. For existing GEX users with Genesys 20
instruments, contact Gary Pageau gpageau@gexcorp.com
or contact Florent Kuntz at Aerial http://www.aerial-crt.com/
Automated Dosimetry Software Update
- Risø
Caldose Software
Risø has released a new Microsoft Windows based version of its
CALDOSE software program for Calorimetry. Existing users can learn more
and download the new program (for use with existing Risø calorimeters
and free of charge!) by visiting the following link: http://www.risoe.dk/nuk/caldose/caldose.htm
- RisøScan
Dose-Mapping Software
The RisøScan software has proven itself as an extremely valuable
tool for many dose mapping applications. This program permits continuous
dose measurement of strips and sheets of B3 and GAFCHROMIC films for
all dose mapping applications. The software translates bitmap pictures
into dosimetric results that yield the highest level of resolution possible.
