About the B3 WINdose Dosimetry System


Utilizing standardized B3 dosimeters (link to dosimeter page), the B3 WINdose Dosimetry System includes the following components:

  • Genesys 20 spectrophotometer with national standard traceable reference set
  • B3 DoseStix and/or WINdose format dosimeter holder(s)
  • Post irradiation heat treatment system (incubator and timer)

 

Most WINdose users add our automated dose report generating software to provide scanned input of dosimeter barcode IDs and electronic data transfer between the Genesys 20 spectrophotometer and a user provided Microsoft Windows based PC running MS Excel. This automation add-in includes:

  • GEX WINdose for Excel automated dose report generating software
  • Spectrophotometer to Computer interlink cable
  • Barcode reader (not used in low energy E-beam applications)

 

Some users may also opt for an add-on dosimetry database software program to maintain dosimetry histories and provide dosimetry data analysis functionality. GEX offers the 21CFR certified Aer’ODE software database as an option. The Aer’ODE database can also be customized to communicate and exchange data with a user’s local and/or wide area network.

 

B3 WINdose Dosimetry System Performance Specifications

 

WINdose is a design controlled factory validated dosimetry system complete with measurement instrumentation and references, with factory packaged B3 radiochromic film dosimeters (DoseStix or WINdose) and a full set of standard operating procedures.

  • Usable calibration dose range: <1.0 to 150 kGy
  • Overall expanded calibration uncertainty: <6.0% at 95% confidence level (k=2)
  • Radiation process temperature range: -5.0°C to +60°C
  • B3 dosimeter thickness uniformity: ±0.5 microns or less at k=2
  • Fixed wavelength (552nm ±2nm) B3 film absorbance measurement requires use of a 8 nm spectral bandwidth (Genesys 20 with GEX dosimeter holder only)
  • WINdose Dosimetry System footprint – approximately 55 cm by 90 cm
  • Access controlled “office equivalent” environment

 

The WINdose software uses customer-specific embedded dosimeter batch specific calibration coefficients to automatically estimate and assign doses associated with the measured dosimeter value.
