The curing of inks and coatings using low voltage electrons is one of the fastest growing segments of the radiation processing market. Dosimetry is commonly used to characterize or validate the irradiation curing system to measure the surface uniformity of the ionizing radiation as well as the penetrating range of the electrons at the product or web surface. Dosimetry is also used to determine the throughput efficiency (expressed in terms of a “K factor”) of a particular irradiation system over the full range of process settings.
