Complete Dosimetry Solutions for Food Irradiation Applications

Our thin radiochromic film based WINdose dosimetry solution can utilize with our popular B3 dosimeters with a usable dose range from <500 Gy to > 100 kGy. This same dosimetry system can also utilize GAFCHROMIC radiochromic film products to cover a dose range from a few Gy to more than 3,000 Gy.
The Aer’EDE alanine pellet dosimeter based solution was developed by Aerial of France as an elegant factory validated, design controlled, total dosimetry solution. The Aer’EDE system integrates with a user supplied Microsoft Windows based PC and comes with the proven 21 CFR Par 11 compliant database software that can be used to cover a dose range as low as 20 Gy to more than 100 kGy. About Food Irradiation Dosimetry
The requirements for dosimetry in food irradiation applications is generally specified by the regulatory body responsible in a given country, although most have adopted universally agreed upon doses specific to a particular process application. Some application dosimetry guidance can be found in the series of food irradiation standards produced by ISO/ASTM.
Food irradiation dose requirements can range anywhere from a few Gray (Gy) to thousands of Gy, dependent on the application. However, the requirements generally involve providing evidence that the irradiation process system meets intended design requirements as well as characterization performance of the irradiation system to assure uniformly reproducibly controlled irradiation doses can and are being delivered to the product targets.
